Pastured Meats
Howdy! We are Joe & Carla Knopp along with our 4 little farm kids. We started off with just raising our animals to give ourselves better quality food than what is offered in the stores. We want to know exactly what we are eating and that is important to us. We have done this for a few years now and we just thought we would keep doing it for our family. After talking to a friend and fellow local farmer she pushed us to try selling to our community "people want to buy local!" she said. So here we are, nothing fancy about us, but what we do have are meat options that were loved and cared for on our property; all pasture raised as the good Lord intended, and as close to organic as we could get. Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!
Our Current Pastured Meat Selections
Lamb
Our lamb meat comes from our Katahdin sheep who are all born and raised on our family farm. Lambing season is a family favorite around here, as you can imagine. We find it important to keep all our lambs with their mothers for comfort and to naturally self wean. We have our sheep on a rotationally grazing cycle covering all of our pastures..
Chicken
Our Meat Birds are fed a local Non-GMO, no soy, no canola & no fillers feed. We rotate the chickens daily to give them fresh pasture to forage on. By letting our birds naturally forage vs over feeding them, they grow slower and they are able to be a bigger bird without ruining the quality of their meat.
Pork
Our hogs are also fed a Non-GMO, no soy, no canola & no fillers feed. We find it very important to only feed our animals what we would want to consume ourselves. The Hogs are amazing little workers around the farm, their rooting abilities are cleaning up a lot of the blackberries around the farm.
Turkey
We raise our Turkey the same way as our Chicken; rotating them on to new pasture daily. Our Turkey is seasonally raised to provide a perfect holiday meal.
The Farm Stand
Our farm stand is self serve and out year round. We only have eggs out there right now, but the kids have big plans to add more in the near future.
We currently appreciate your patience with our hens as they have slowed down on laying during the shorter colder days.
The Layers
We currently have over 110 layers of all different breeds which give a beautiful variety of eggs in each carton. Our hens are pasture raised and fed a Non-GMO, no soy, no canola & no fillers feed that they eat in-between their foraging off the land. Our eggs are gathered daily by little hands from happy hens.
